How do I call for advice or questions about my child?
It is our policy that all advice calls during office hours are personally handled by the physicians. Our medical staff will be happy to schedule an appointment and may even suggest an appointment when taking a message. If you do leave a message and time permits, the doctors try to return phone calls in between patients. Otherwise a physician will call you back when we are done seeing patients for the day.

How do I get advice after hours?
If at all possible we ask that advice calls be handled during regular office hours. After hours calls should try to be reserved for emergencies. After hours calls go through an answering service which will page the doctor on call. The physicians at Pediatric Place are available if a call is determined to be a situation which cannot wait until the next day the office is open. The after hours phone number is the same as the regular phone number 216-831-7337. This is the only time you will not get a live voice, but an answering system. It will give instructions on how to contact the doctor for an emergency.

What insurance plans do we accept?
We accept almost all insurance plans. Please call or stop by our office to verify if your insurance is accepted. If you are already a patient, you may want to call and verify that we accept your new plan choices prior to choosing a different plan.

How do I get prescriptions and refills?
Prescriptions are generally given out at the time of an office visit. We believe that if a patient needs a prescription medication, then they most likely need to be seen in the office. Refills are also best handled during regular office hours so we can have your child’s medical information available. Those children that require chronic medications need to be seen at regular intervals. In general, in order to provide the best care for your child, children with ADHD need to be seen at least every three months and those with allergies and asthma need to be seen every three to six months. Please do not wait until your child has run out of medication to make an appointment. We want to make sure that your child receives the time that you and they need and deserve. It is much easier to schedule an appointment when there is more flexibility in your schedule.

How do I request a transfer of medical records?
Medical record transfers require a medical release form. This is very closely regulated by federal and state laws. There can be no exceptions to having a valid signed medical record release prior to copying or releasing any records. Please make sure that any release is filled out completely and has a valid signature either of the patient if they are 18 or over or a guardian if they are less than 18 years old.
